Searching on JSTOR
- Date Summer 2013 - June 2014
One of my main projects at Ithaka was to improve the search experience on JSTOR, an academic database for researchers. Working closely with a dedicated agile product team, we followed lean research and design principles to iterate and improve on the search experience.
To test and validate our ideas we used the following methods:
- Weekly user testing and interviewing with prototypes
- Guerrilla paper prototyping
- Analysis of website traffic
- A/B Tests
- Surveys
- Ethnography and contextual inquiry
